Usually you love to shop by yourself it is the time when you make the best decisions because you know exactly what you like and what you want ! once a year your husband says lets go shopping together and that is when you go to your favorite places hoping he will say you were right everything is amazing! it makes you feel less guilty because he actually approves your purchases……….. so you hit them all in the same afternoon! There is nothing better than going home feeling you made a great deal! the next day he will tell you that he has never seen such a spender and women are compulsive shoppers!!! doesn’t matter damage is done and your goodies are in the drawer! The good thing is I keep my stuff forever and it always comes in handy especially when they are timeless and elegant . It is the case of beautiful high end artisanal unique accessories . There is not one of them I have not been wearing over the years with pleasure, beautiful manufacture amazing colours. No matter how you are feeling those make you feel great , as long as your basic outfit is in your closet just waiting for you to decide with what to match it with! Shopping with husbands is something you do when you are traveling or once a year when you feel like sharing a crazy afternoon! makes you feel good and somehow nice to share the moment you are buying it together! Alberto has always had great taste also for women’s fashion so after all he is a great consultant ! I have so much fun when I take my clients shopping and they bring their husband along fun to admire patience and interest of different couples around the world ! after all we are all the same !!!!!!! just LOVE to shop! so just choose your favorite consultant !

The Day After Snow in Rome ! My Roman snow story since 1985!

The night between February 25th and 26th 2018 surprise surprise announced snow actually arrived ! romans woke up as only in 1985 and 2012 like a real northern country with 15 cm snow !!!!!!

1985 I had arrived on the overnight train from Cortina , just a teen ager one of my first journeys alone with friends , arrived at Tiburtina station the scenery was totally surreal for Rome , snow, trains, few people no taxis no buses running basically desert in the central station! To make a long story short no parents available for pick up afraid of snow and ice ! my amazing young father ex race car driver came to the station with car he had handy the famous iconic Fiat 500 but where is the trick? he deflated the tires so the car would not slid !!!!!!! to this day that memory with the skies sticking outside the roof top and just us in all of Rome is unforgettable !

2012 me mom with two small kids , snow in Rome remembering my dad put kids in the car and went for a drive around highlights: Spanish Steps and Borghese Gallery driving by……..silence and desert again literally just us in all of Rome ! this time it is an Audi 4×4 with winter tires !!!!!!! we had a ball !!!!!!!!!

2018 kids grew up , it is the time of selfies and mom not in fashion any more so drove through Rome in my adorable Fiat Panda and took beautiful pictures as driving by!!!!!!!!!

next time I might be a Grandma and history goes round the Clock!!!!!!!!!!

Just a few months ago the wonderful project of a restaurant called Assaggia became real! amazing italian tapas based on traditional Grandma’s recipes served in monoportions in a five star Boutique Hotel Margutta 19 .

An experience, idea of a great team where michelin star chef Angelo Troiani trained young chef Daniele Ciaccio and once again expresses the belief for which he is well know : the research for authentic raw ingredients , and it all shows !!!!!!!

Every time I step in the palazzo Fendi my memory goes back forty years , amazing history of fashion brought into the most contemporary setting in one of the most beautiful concept stores in the world! The tour of the artisanal work behind the scenes will leave you without words! impossible to imagine ladies working in the lab since 1968…….today still there ! The visit with me and my storytelling is unique ( this is what people say!!!!! )

On the ground floor the “Selleria” Peek a boo stands out and specially what is unique is that you can buy it only in Rome! There are very few so they are numbered.

Upstairs the colecction and the glass see through laboratory shows the amazing tailor made artisan work that you cannot believe if you don’t actually see it!

Experience the magic of Via Margutta

The artists’ street – it’s like nowhere else in Rome. Effortlessly elegant and serene, this cobbled, ivy-draped lane feels like a village despite its glamorous artistic and cinematic history. It’s a friendly, local haunt, with families who have have lived here for generations, yet just around the corner are the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, and all the designer brands you could desire, like Prada, Gucci, Bulgari, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Chanel, and many others.

Via Margutta is truly a hidden gem in the center of Rome. It’s a small side street that parallels Via Babuino and offers a respite from the chaotic and busy streets of the Tridente District (the triangular shaped area that connects Piazza di Venezia, Piazza del Popolo, and Piazza di Spagna). The steet is characterized by the plethora of independent art galleries, small cafes and shops, and very characteristic, vine-covered buildings. Just walking the quaint little street, you can feel the history and lives lived there. Now you can experience the magic of Via Margutta in a whole different way, staying in converted artist studios turned vacation apartments.

In 1858, Francesco Patrizi Montoro built a beautiful Palazzo housing artists’ studios on Via Margutta. It’s still owned and lived in by his descendants, so there’s a sense of family history here. The owner of Margutta Glamour Studios, his great-grand daughter, is an interior designer, who has created four stunning apartments occupying the former studios and part of the palazzo.

Picasso and Stravinsky once worked in Via Margutta’s studios, and film director Federico Fellini lived here. In the movie, Roman Holiday with the iconic Audrey Hepburn, the character played by Gregory Peck also lived on Via Margutta. The street was a centre for film stars in the 1950s and 60s at the height of the Dolce Vita era and there’s still an important dubbing studio here today, as well as art galleries, antique shops, art restorers, and a marble engraver.

Margutta Glamour Studios are a collection of 4 apartments: the Luxury Loft, Visconti Bright Apartment, Margutta Roman Apartment, and the Charming Apartment. They vary in size, but are all located in the lovely and historic Patrizi palazzo where Pablo Picasso worked and passed some of his time while in Rome. The largest of the four, the airy and bright Luxury Loft, was once the studio of famed Italian sculptor Fausto Melotti.

The large, 3m high windows that perforate the facade are historic indication of late 19th century invention, and highlight the building’s use as a place for artists and makers. Many of the spaces are still used for this purpose – a fabulous art historian has his studio just beside the Luxury Loft. You can often see him working on the restoration of some classical masterpiece. Where else in the world can you experience something like that!?
